Alison Cutajar

Living and working on the unceded, traditional, and ancestral territories of the Coast Salish people, including xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Alison Cutajar is a Lead Facilitator at SSC, delivering and co-developing programs that support individuals and organizations in cultivating healthier, more resilient workplaces through creative and embodied approaches.
With a background in Indigenous Studies and Fine Arts from Nipissing University and professional training in Art Therapy from the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute, Alison brings a culturally informed and evidence-based lens to SSC’s wellness and leadership offerings. As an active member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association, she integrates therapeutic creativity into sessions focused on coping skills, focus, communication, and strengthening workplace relationships.

Drawing on her lifelong connection to art, and her own journey with mental health, Alison understands firsthand the power of creative expression as a tool for resilience and regulation. Within SSC programs, she skillfully weaves art-based practices into conversations around psychological safety, team connection, and emotional well-being.

Through collaborative facilitation and tailored delivery, Alison helps extend SSC’s mission of connecting people back to themselves, and teams to each other.

“I’m not here to be right, I’m here to get it right… We're not here to be knowers.
We're here to be learners. And that's the bottom line, to be better people.”
- Brené Brown

What Sets Alison Apart:

Guided by Purpose and Heart:

Alison’s work is grounded in a deep sense of purpose: to create spaces where people feel seen, valued, and empowered to be themselves. She brings curiosity, compassion, and a thoughtful presence to every session, creating experiences that foster self-awareness, connection, and clarity. Each workshop is offered with warmth and intention, and with the belief that meaningful insight and growth can happen even in the workplace, especially when we’re given permission to slow down, reflect, and create together.

Relational Connection at Her Core:

Alison believes that meaningful connection is essential to both personal growth and thriving workplace culture. With a trauma-informed and relational lens, she fosters psychologically safe environments where individuals and teams feel seen, heard, and supported. Her grounded presence and capacity for holding space help groups navigate complex emotions, strengthen communication, and build trust; laying the foundation for deeper collaboration, resilience, and authentic engagement.

Space for Expression and Experience:

Alison’s sessions are dynamic, hands-on, and accessible to all, with no art experience required. Through thoughtfully guided workshops, participants are invited to reflect, create, and connect in new ways. Whether your team is seeking stress relief, creative problem-solving, or a day of meaningful team building, Alison’s workshops provide a refreshing, impactful alternative to traditional wellness programming.

Rooted in Belonging:

With a background in Indigenous Studies, trauma-informed practice, and lived experience as a 2SLGBTQIAA+ practitioner, Alison brings a deeply inclusive lens to all her work. She honours diverse identities and experiences, weaving in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion practices that support both individual reflection and collective understanding. Her workshops are brave, welcoming spaces where all participants are invited to show up as they are.
